I love the warmth and freedom of summer but I also love the colors and smells of autumn. An early autumn afternoon often seems to have the best of both worlds as one season is quietly rolling over into the other.

I call them "sketches" because of how quickly I create them--usually between 20-60 minutes--and they're nearly always created "en plein air" (outside, on location), using water from the painting's subject, while my kids are playing.
