Inspired by a recent family hike that led us, as my daughter pointed out, as high as the clouds! Our kiddos' little legs were getting tired and we heard an occasional complaint that they were too tired to go on. To which we always reply, "Let's keep going a little farther. At least let's see what's around the next corner, right?" At some point, they're going to catch on. But for now, it's still working!

6" x 9" paper

Watercolor and ink on hand-made paper

I call them "sketches" because of how quickly I create them--usually between 20-60 minutes--and they're often created "en plein air" (outside, on location), using water from the painting's subject when possible, while my kids are playing.
