This was the first of three paintings I did at this delightful spot. The wind created beautiful patterns in the water and while it was a bit chilly for me as I painted, my kids happily played in the shallow water.

I call them "sketches" because of how quickly I create them--usually between 20-60 minutes--and they're nearly always created "en plein air" (outside, on location), using water from the painting's subject, while my kids are playing.
