On a recent trip to Central Oregon, I painted this spot three separate times! It was a great little, hidden spot where the kids were able to play in shallow water and when I took breaks from painting, I could take them paddleboarding upriver and back again. I wasn't planning on painting it yet again but these incredible clouds rolled in and I knew I had to!

I call them "sketches" because of how quickly I create them--usually between 20-60 minutes--and they're often created "en plein air" (outside, on location), using water from the painting's subject, while my kids are playing.
