This September, a freak windstorm set off horrific wildfires in our beloved state. Friends lost their homes, the air quality was beyond hazardous, and the evacuation notices crept closer and closer to us from the north, the east, and the south. As we desperately prayed for rain to slow the spread and give some relief to our exhausted firemen, I sat down to paint. I painted my prayers.
