Grief is isolating. Even when it’s a shared loss, grief feels lonely. Our own pain may blind us to the fact that those around us are hurting too. But a death, loss of health, infertility, broken dreams, your child’s physical/mental/social/spiritual struggles are felt--albeit in varying degrees--by all nearby. By all who care. Even if it’s just the grief they feel helplessly watching you struggle. And while it doesn’t take away the hurt to know that others feel it too, it does lighten the load. There is strength in knowing we’re not alone.
