A few Saturdays ago we dragged our young kids out of the house to go on this great hike that we'd been told had the best fields of mountain wildflowers you'd ever see. It wasn't an easy hike and while the promise of wildflowers was enough to keep me going, we may or may not have bribed the kids with a promise of root beer floats on the way home. Whatever works! I do think by the time we got to views like this, even they realized it was worth it. Though they still wanted their root beer floats. ;)
6" x 9" paper
Watercolor and ink on hand-made paper
I call them "sketches" because of how quickly I create them--usually between 20-60 minutes--and they're nearly always created "en plein air" (outside, on location), using water from the painting's subject, while my kids are playing.
